Remember parents: It's your responsibility to protect your children from CBS.
I know the word 'blogger' conjures up a certain image in people's minds; lavish parties filled with expensive liquor and beautiful women, 40ft yachts sailing around the most exclusive boating clubs, being served caviar off of a platter made of gold and the tears of the middle class... And there is a lot of that, yes. But there is downtime and I spend much of that downtime with my two roommates. They are the worst roommates I could ever ask for. They smell horrible, they eat all of my food and never replace it, they refuse to pay for ANYTHING, and they are constantly invading my private space. Granted, one of them is 5 and the other is 11 months, but that's no damn excuse. Get a job you freeloaders!
I always knew that when I had kids it would be my duty (Ed. note - hee hee, duty) to ensure that my children were raised the correct way, with a love of good television. In doing this I realized that there are some excellent kid's shows out there that do a great job of not only entertaining children but throwing some things in here and there for adults as well.
#1. Adventure Time - This is number one on my list for a very good reason. It is a fantastic show. It's about a human boy named Finn and his magical dog Jake. They live in a land called Ooo where they battle evil and save princesses. Also bonus points for Jake the Dog being voiced by Bender from Futurama.
#2. Phineas and Ferb - Phineas and Ferb is one of the best shows on the Disney Channel. It follows a pair of brothers who decide to make every single day of summer the best it can be by inventing something new and fun every day. There are so many little nuances to the show that make it fun for kids and adults that I can't really explain them here. You really have to watch it to see for yourself.
I tried to get them into Community or Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia but they just don't seem to appreciate the effort that goes into creating a great television show. On the flip side though, neither one of them think Two and a Half Men is funny either so I'm doing something right.
