Ok people, this is not a drill. I repeat, this is NOT a drill.

"Community" is in fact returning to television. NBC has reported that 12 new episodes will air this spring. They also finally admitted that maybe the show needs a new time slot.

So the day Blog Name TBA returns from its holiday hiatus is the same day that NBC announces that "Community" will once again return to the airwaves... Coincidence?

Also as if the return of Abed, Troy, and Annie wasn't enough, here's some other awesome news that should restore your faith in humanity one news item at a time:

- Megan Mullally has gone on record as saying that she will be participating in the "Party Down" movie, going as far as to say that John Enbom is writing it now and that the entire cast will be in it.

- There will be no Glee spin-off once the current set of characters graduates. I think I speak for all of humanity when I say 'F yes'

- NBC has also decided to move "Whitney" to its own little island on Wednesday nights along with its new soon to be cancelled sitcom "Are you there God? Its me Chelsea". Let's see how well it does without its "Office" lead in.

- "Parks and Recreation" is going to not only give a recurring role to Louis CK this season but Paul Rudd as well. As if that ensemble cast needed anymore help.


Seriously folks, I could not be more excited about the upcoming year which should be a clear indicator that the Mayans were right and the end of the world is upon us. As long as I get all 12 new episodes of "Community" the world can do whatever the hell it damn well pleases.

And we're baaaaaack!

Now that it's officially 2012 we can look back on the monster 2011 we had here at Blog Name TBA. Since the second we debuted in June we were flooded by pageviews from such exotic locations like Russia, England, Germany, and Kansas. Our farewell post for "Community" got a record 60 pageviews on its first day. We started our very own Facebook fan page (8 fans, NBD). We hit 100 posts before the new year and 2012 promises to be an even better year for all of us (me) here at TBA provided the world doesn't end. So in the spirit of the new year allow me to share with you our New Years goals, resolutions if you will:

1. Berate and degrade some worthless excuse for a celebrity so much that it garners the attention of their publicist thus prompting them to send us a 'Cease and Desist' letter. Rob Schneider, I'm looking at you.

2. Convince Alison Brie that her restraining order is only standing in the way of true happiness for the both of us.

3. Get the attention of CBS and talk them into buying the rights to this blog in order to make it into a horrible abomination of a sitcom.

4. Become famous enough that I can stop plastering every damn post I write on Facebook just to get people to check it out.

Christmas Bonus. Bam.

Now I realize my last post of the year was supposed to be a Friday Laziness but I was watching TV last night and saw the first promo for the new season of Louie. Then I came across something else that I felt needed to be shared during this Christmas season. Two weeks ago Louis CK did a little special called "Louis C.K. Live at the Beacon Theater". Now keep in mind this was a full on comedy special like you see Friday night on Comedy Central, except it was funny.

What did the funniest ginger in the world (Sorry Carrot Top) do with this comedy special? Did he air it in HBO and make his fans pay subscription fees to watch it? Did he put it on Comedy Central between the 5th consecutive airing of the Colbert Report and South Park? Nay. Hell nay.

Louis CK distributed the entire special online for the low low price of $5.00 American.

Smash cut to today and "Louis C.K. Live at the Beacon Theater" has made over a million dollars renewing my faith in humanity by demonstrating the drawing power of one of the funniest comedians in the business today. And since it was distributed online Louis CK was able to avoid all of the fees and surcharges that normally accompany a dvd release.

So what did he do with the money, you ask?

The first $250,000 covered the expenses (website fees, etc.), then he gave the second $250,000 to his staff as a big fat Christmas bonus. On top of that, he gave $280,000 to charities recommended to him by friends and on Twitter. Warming Glow

100 Posts Strong

They said it couldn't be done. They said we'd never hit the 100 post mark. They said we would burn out long before we made it this far.

I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that they were wrong. I'd love to throw a big huge bash for my 100th post complete with clips and interviews and retrospectives but there really isn't anything going on today. So in the half assed lazy blogger fashion you've all come to expect from me, here's a bunch of Tracy Jordan quotes:

I was just thinking about how weird it is that we eat birds.

I've seen a blind guy bite a police horse. A puppy committed suicide after he saw our bathroom. I once bit into a burrito and there was a child's shoe in it. I've seen a hooker eat a tire. A pack of wild dogs took over and successfully ran a Wendy's. The sewer people stole my skateboard. The projects I lived in were named after Zachary Taylor, generally considered to be one of the worst presidents of all time. I once saw a baby give another baby a tattoo. They were very drunk!

Seriously though, thank you all for your support and clicks. Without you all this blog would just be me writing in my journal in the dark while I cry, drink peppermint schnapps, and cut myself while I stuff handfuls of Cheetos into my mouth.

I'll have a Friday Laziness tomorrow but then I'm off for a week. See you all after the New Year.

Anyone up for a road trip?

I've never really appreciated the flash mob as a thing. I've always seen it as far more annoying than anything else especially now that old people have joined in on the 'fun'. But there comes a time when a man has to set aside his own personal beliefs and support something greater than himself...

According to a post on Craigslist a group of "Community" fans are planning a flash mob in Rockefeller Center this Thursday at 1pm. They are asking that people bring their own tiny Christmas tree and sing along to 'O Christmas Tree' with them.

I suppose I could dig deeper into this story and maybe figure out how this flash mob ties into their support for "Community" but they had me at "Community". Also its the holidays and I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but I'm a fairly lazy blogger. I do hope that at some point in the night everyone yells 'Pop Pop' in unison.

So if you're planning to be in New York on Thursday could you maybe take some pictures of this flash mob and interview a couple of people, maybe send me the transcript...that'd be really cool. Also, could you get me a bagel?
