Like a lot of you I grew up in the '90s and I remember a time when Nickelodeon wasn't filled with mindless cartoons that featured the same joke over and over with different characters. Now don't get me wrong, I will sit and watch Fairly Oddparents or TUFF Puppy with my kids all day long, doesn't mean I have forgotten the glory days of the big orange splat.
I realize this post isn't the timeliest of posts, Nickelodeon has been airing '90s shows every night for most of August. But I'm not exactly good at what I do so I'm getting to it now.
I love that Nickelodeon gave in to the 'Bring Back the '90s' movement. There was so much good about that Nickelodeon. Maybe it was because I was in my teens and all jacked up on hormones and Crystal Pepsi, but I couldn't get enough of those shows.
Clarissa Explains It All, All That, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, The Angry Beavers, Guts, Doug, Keenan and Kel... Nickelodeon even managed to make Keenan Thompson funny. Saturday Night Live writers have been trying to do that for years.
So far the only shows they're airing are Clarissa, Keenan and Kel, All That, and Doug. But the promos they've been showing feature all of my old favorites, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some Donkey Lips in the very near future.
