Three seasons. It took Dan Harmon and the writers of "Community" three seasons to create this incredible payoff. Once in each season someone in the study group has said the name Beetlejuice. During this year's Halloween episode Annie continued the trend and said the name for the third time and look what came walking down the hall. Mother-effing Beetlejuice. Are you kidding me? Brilliant.
The millions and millions of "Two and a Half Men" fans, when reached for comment, probably said:
"Ummm, whurr are all the claps? How'm I apposed ta know when this is funnee?"
See, that's the thing. Little things like this aren't supposed to be funny, it's just like when Abed delivered a baby in the background of an entire episode. "Community", because of things like this, is showing how smart it is. Dan Harmon and the other writers are obviously not content just dumping a pile of one-liners and canned laughter into a 30 minute window. They reward faithful viewers with little easter eggs like this and even though NBC has decided to put them on the back burner, they continue to do it.
It's a freaking breath of fresh air in a world where "2 Broke Girls" and reruns of "Yes, Dear" reign supreme and so help me if it gets taken off the air...
I'll post a bunch of pictures and bitch about it not being around, I'm not what you might call 'motivated'.
